MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current TB test, Background Check
- Licensed registered nurse or licensed practitioner
- Certification in CPR
- Demonstrate a willingness to work with all students
- Sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity and oral and written communication skills required to perform all performance responsibilities
- Ability to quickly learn procedures used to report information and maintain record
- Ability to travel to more than one work location in the course of the day if assigned to an itinerant position
- Ability to prepare required written reports
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Possess high moral standards and integrity
- Possess valid Virginia driver’s license
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as health consultant to pupils, parents, teachers, and other school personnel
- Make record of finding and interprets findings to pupils, teacher, and parents
- Upon request, make appointment for physicals for students undergoing evaluation for special education and provide transportation when necessary
- Provide first-aid services
- Discuss individual physical problems with pupils, parents, and teachers
- Maintain daily log of student visits to the clinic
- Supervise students on medication during school hours and school activities as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by building administrator
